Questions Before You Book a Session

The things clients ask most before and after a hinge fitting, answered plainly.

What is wrist hinge fitting, exactly?

It's a fitting method that measures how and when your wrists set the club on the way back and hold that angle into the downswing, then matches grip taper, shaft weight, and swing weight to the formation style you actually have — instead of a chart built around hand size or swing speed alone.

Do I need unusual wrist mobility to benefit from this?

No. Every golfer forms some kind of hinge, whether early and pronounced or late and shallow. The sensor rig reads whatever pattern you already have — there's no "correct" mobility level required to get useful data from a session.

How long does a hinge fitting session take?

Single-club fittings (driver, fairway wood, hybrid, wedge, or putter) run 45–60 minutes. Iron set fittings run 60–90 minutes. A full bag hinge audit covering every club typically takes 2–3 hours.

What's the difference between this and a standard club fitting?

A standard fitting usually starts and ends with ball-flight numbers off a launch monitor. We capture that data too, but we also log hinge angle continuously through the swing, which lets us trace a launch-monitor result back to a specific formation or retention issue rather than guessing at the cause.

Will a hinge-matched grip feel different right away?

Usually within the first few swings. Because taper and diameter are chosen from how your hand actually moves through the hinge, the change tends to feel more like "quieter hands" than a dramatic shift — most clients notice it in strike consistency before they notice it in feel.

Do you fit left-handed golfers?

Yes. Our sensor rig and demo wall both work identically for right- and left-handed golfers, including left-handed grip and shaft options across every major brand we carry.

What should I bring to my session?

Bring your current clubs relevant to the fitting, the glove you normally play in, and a rough sense of your typical misses or frustrations with your current setup.

Do I have to buy anything after the session?

No. You'll leave with a written build ticket and there's never any obligation to purchase. If you do order, your session fee is credited in full toward the build.

Can a hinge fitting help with an inconsistent short game?

Often, yes. Partial-hinge control around the green is a common source of chunked or thin chip shots, and it's something we specifically measure during wedge and putter fittings.
